EcoEnergy Systems operates a massive smart grid network consisting of over 120,000 smart meters and inverters connected to Azure IoT Hub. As their deployment grew, they began processing upwards of 10 million events daily.

While Azure provided the necessary ingestion infrastructure, visualizing and querying this data using standard Log Analytics workspaces became prohibitively expensive, spiraling out of control and costing thousands of dollars every month just to keep dashboards live.
